The Pow(d)er of Non-Formal Education is a recurring training programme for youth workers and young people searching their way into the world of non-formal education. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, this particular edition, organised by the Greek National Agency in 2020, took place online. So you can imagine the challenge of having people confined to their chairs and screens for ours on end!
Apart from adapting to the new format and thus reducing the number of ours for LIVE participation , we were also invited to attend and create a visual for each session, so that both the content and the ideas from the breakout rooms could be mapped visually for later use.
The creators of the programme, a bunch of funny, overly creative and witty professionals, with many years of experience in the field, are doing a great job at making everything that comes up an opportunity to learn and at the same time a context for reflection. Just like the Pow(d)er comes from both the power (as in impact) and the powder (as in the spices) that needs to be added to non-formal education in order to stir participants’ imagination and engagement.
Dive into the visuals and do check also the wrap-up video animation at the end of everything.

This video animation was more of a test-challenge, as we did not know about it from the very beginning. The client requested it at the end, and we decided to create a budget-friendly solution, that would involve also the participants.
With our careful support and guidance, they created a script. We optimised it for a certain duration and created a storyboard. We selected specific elements from the graphic recording visuals to fit it accordingly. We coached a participant to do a voiceover recording with their phone. And then put everything together. Ta-daaa! (you can also switch the audio ON)
