Youth Workers Competence Model

The YOuth Workers COmpetence MOdel (YOCOMO) workshop was a 3-day follow up meeting that took an in-depth review on how training for youth workers (based on the ETS competence model) should be developed in the future. The meeting took place after the training ran its course and it was time for a review. There were 3 mai topics:

  • External validation;
  • Exploring the new training strategy;
  • YOCOMO horizons.

It was a brave new step forward which could have an impact on the future of youth worker training. The aim was a blended approach between a residential and an online version.

For organisers and facilitators it was important to keep an experimental side going on with this training and take in consideration all the fresh and fun tools available in training to create a future-proof worker.

For the future development, the plan included building a community and a resource hub with high quality standards for learning.
