Back in 2022-2023, at the beginning of the AI hype, the Youth Partnership realised that this tool will become attractive for more and more people (youth workers included). And while that’s an opportunity in itself, it is a threat as well. Many users are not aware of the whole spectrum and how deeply AI has already reached the every day life of each person and where it might lead. How does that influence our choices, our rights and our freedom?
It’s not so much about stirring anxiety, as it is about raising awareness.
Across a series of 5 animated videos, we tried to lay the ground for critical thinking around the artificial intelligence and help young people understand how to position themselves about it. We tried telling the the story from every stakeholder’s perspective: from young people, to youth workers and youth policy makers. In the end, this is a technology that we should be able to understand, use consciously, as well as influence, if needed, since it’s something that really impacts our lives.
We really appreciated the Youth Partnership’s fresh look at the topic and enjoyed developing together each episode. From idea and concept, to script, storyboard, voiceover, illustration and animation, it’s been a very rewarding experience to craft these animations and give a shape to important topics for anyone leaving in the 21st century.
